This event is for people with learning disabilities, autism or other additional support needs.

There are changes happening to support for people in the justice system.

Two men speaking to the policeCome learn about your rights. Tell us what support you would need if you were:

  • accused of a crime
  • victim of a crime
  • witness to a crime

Please find links below to a flyer for the event, and information on how to tell us you are coming.

At the event you will:

  1. Hear about what is happening for people in the justice system – the outcome of the Appropriate adult consultation and the new supports available under the vulnerable victims and witnesses act.
  2. Have your say about the supports you would need going through the justice process – Share experiences, tell us the supports you think you would need and tell us whether the new supports being offered would make a difference.
  3. Get a copy of our new easy read guides – The members of the SOLD group have been developing easy read guides. These will be launched at the event and available for people.
  4. Learn about your rights – We will play a house of rights board game about the rights people have in the justice system.

People can bring support workers with them if they need to but the event is for people with learning disabilities, autism or other similar support needs.
